Broken Shears Hitachi 210

Post #1 by XS650 » Tue Nov 11, 2008 11:06 am

Hitachi 210 on seafront demolition job,no one seems too unhappy about breakdown ! thought they might have used bigger machine but it might have been floor loadings limited it.

Firm i used to work for had a set of VTN Shears that would split like that on a regular basis :dizzy:

No matter how careful you were!!!! (Before i hear the crys of operator abuse!!!)

The bottom half would break away and come swinging back at you on the hoses!! That would make your A** twitch!

It is the weak point from the Verachtert shears. I have also experience with this problem :? :insomnia:

Is that Seaton Carew where the demolition is taking place? I stood on a jelly fish not far from that building when i was a kid, thankfully it diddn't sting me !!!!!!!!

Sounds like a design fault with the shears and one which should have been picked up during research and development!
