that would make sense as to why its only working at night, obviously to avoid disrupting the ferrys in and out of dover. I must admit i was rather shocked that i saw this monster, and to be honest it was only by luck that i did! Hence why i went and got some pictures!

There are two ships that were sunk in 1915 at the entrances of the docks, one on the eastern dock and the other on the western dock ...
I have found this site that tells the story a bit clearer ..even pictures of the operation in progress

Thanks for the info martyn, im gessing that they may not be there for too much longer, may have to try and get back there to get a few more pics!!! i just wish i could get closer!

Am i correct in assuming that having a shorter and heavier boom than the super high reach units is to handle larger and heavier beams etc?
