... it says in the program that it is a 1964 JCB 1D 15cwt. ... is it just a re-badge ?

Yes indeed, JCB did make a small range of two wheel drive manual tips dumpers.. 30cwt, 22cwt, and a 15cwt .. they were introduced in 1964, i do not know how many were made, or when JCB stopped making them .. or even why .. perhaps some one else knows

I have a feeling they couldn't make any money on them , every engineering firm in the Uk seemed to have a go at knocking out these 'manual everything' small dumpers.
They must be one of the most difficult vehicles to identify once they lose their badges as they're all so similar.
Not all those who wander are lost.
