Hi
Turns out it's got a lister SR1 engine. I removed the head and gave it a de-Coke, ground in the valves. Bump clearances were wrong. It was on a 20 " piston with no bore wear!!! Runsweet now and starts very easy even in the winter. Replaced the steering box with a Land Rover series three, overhauled the rod / drum brakes and replacecd an oil seal on one of the half shafts. Tin work was shot blasted and repainted. Bit more to do-but these old dumpers are great projects.

You have done a nice job on the restoration. We feel we have the same model but with the SR2 twin cylinder engine in it along with a Newage Coventry 3 speed gearbox. We have no ID tag on the rear panel near where you crank start but have serial numbers of the engine, gearbox and what appears to be a chassis number stamped on a brass tag fixed to the floor area behind the bin.
Any clues as to where to look for more info will be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome.
Plenty of dumper crack on here.
That looks pretty intact, from the pics it looks as though the drive wheels want swapping over. Any pics of the cold Start?
Norm.

If you can put it under cover I would be tempted to keep that original. Spray a drop of diesel/hyd oil mix.

Yeah, very nice project to play with and yes front wheels are on the wrong side unless you are working on a sealed surface for long periods of time. Years ago I used to swap the rear wheels of my back hoe over when doing a lot of work on a sealed road, it did extend the tyre life.

That is a very original one I 'd keep it as it is , great patina which you can only have once !
May I ask why you were seeking one out .

Easy fix are the best problems to have if you're going to have any.
