Help with identifying bucket teeth!

Post #1 by Robban_C » Sat May 16, 2009 11:03 pm

Hi!

I would like some help with identifying the teeth on this bucket.
The bucket might be English so I thought that my friends on The Big Island might help.
Note that the bucket uses unique "molar" teeth. The side teeth are special left and right ones.

And the make of the bucket is also of interest.

Hi

They look like the teeth that JCB used to put on their buckets. Come to think of it it looks like a JCB bucket. Try your local JCB dealer I think you'll strike lucky.

jcb sidecutters have only one bolt in the side ,and do not have holes in the rear or side of bucket ,it looks more like a kubota 161-191 bucket or possibly peljob
jcb teeth may well fit
cheers graham

HI Robert, How hard is the ground over there. I found with those bolt on type teeth, they lose their digging ability rather quickly.but we do have some narsty hard rock over here. I use esco type teeth with weld on adapters and the teeth held on by a pin and rubber, quick and easy to change but only use twin point tiger teeth as normal chisel point teeth are a waste of time in the rock too. The weather is starting to cool down her which must mean you guys should be warming up .IAN.

The ground differs from normal dirt and soil to stones and rocks.
This bucket and its teeth has proved to be an effective combo in lots of materials.

I was warned about bolt-on teeth but those has worked fine.

And we are having spring and some sunburn.

Hi robert , I would say most of the original manifacturers put bolt on teeth on their buckets.A mate who works for komatsu gave me some new bolt on teeth that had been taken off a new machine as the customer didn't want that sort . When we buy a new machine here as most machines are importedThe buckets are made by local manafacturers ,with one bucket supplyed with the machine by the manafacturer .My jcb 8080 came with a 900 jcb bucket with bolt on teeth,{not strong enough for out here and bent it out of shape the first time used]the rest and the quickhitch were made locally with pin on teeth . IS there a identifercation plate on the bucket to say who made it as they look like fairly new buckets.ian.
