Need help with JCB tractor

Post #1 by ktruong » Fri Feb 13, 2015 11:40 pm

Hi,

I have a JCB 3C or 214 model (SLP214TC6U0 ) that I could not start the engine. However, my brother knows how to get the starter to crank and get the tractor running. Once the engine is running, the forward and reverse lever seems not to work and we could not get the tractor moving.

I have been looking at the Workshop Manual hoping to find the fix to this problem, but still looking. Would someone with the knowledge kindly let me know where to start?

Thanks.

Have you checked the wiring that goes from the forward/reverse lever? Take a look at the fuse box

well it sounds like a modern machine
It would have some kind of neutral cut out or park type of switch I would think as most tractors etc have since the 60 's I wonder if the switch is no longer working and has come off or something silly like that
It would explain why the machine doesnt start and is most likely linked to forward reverse problem maybe

Hi,

Key switch is Ok?
Seems like you start the engine directly on starter motor.
Check fuselink box on engine compartment and fuses and relays inside the cab.
If you have a serial number i can forward an electrical schematic.
