I've finally found the pics of the 1454 County tractor we used to own. Apologies for quality.
Reg number EHO 417S .If anyone knows the whereabouts of this tractor I'd like to see some pics of it if its still around.

Richard, you have made my day with them, though i am very sad to see it in that condition   . Do you know if its still at greety's place?, but then again it has been 8 years when you took them pics. .What a sorry state it looks . I was 9 years old when dad bought it so i practically grew up with it.

I reckon it would be a fair restoration project if you had the cash, i would if i had it. I think things like County's and the like need to be Preserved, its part of Agricultural History

Thanks for sharing your photos mate. :)

Jim

Jim,

I 'thought' it went to someone in Totnes area, but I could be wrong.

Greety wanted almost 2k for it fro what I remember, the best thing to do was obviously to remove the cab, impossible to get that part up to new condition now, that's what made me think the new owner cut the cab off and made it a platform model with round wings.....i maybe wrong but I think it is this one....

this was a County do up Tedburn Santa Maria in 2004 (or 5)

looking a bit further I found this....maybe in Holland now....drop the boy a line, see if it is

:D :D :D once i get my teeth in to something ;)

Anyway Jim, it's not a cabless version near Totnes that I first thought.....so it must be the one in Holland.

look on the bright side.....at least it wasn't cut up

back 10 years ago, i was 15, and at school, but mad on Countys! armed with a old style cheap film camera, i would walk or mountain bike to forests near my home to watch in awe countys working on the timber on steep slopes. I was very lucky to see so many, right on my doorstep! and lucky to have so many clearfells and finnings going on. In 4 different forests there were a brace of Countys on each job!

I spent all my pocket money on all the books and videos going, made about 3 scrap books with pictures from tractor and foresty magazines, and foolishly cut up a rare 40 series leaflet! but i kept spare one!

My obsession dyed out during my college/uni years, and i feel guilty now not photographing some countys i saw during that time! ha! So here are some of my pics, ive kept it to one photo per tractor, otherwise i would be here all night! Enjoy this county lovers! Il start my me posing by a 1454 and dump trailer!
