Hi Nick, your Taurus could be older, she is a Mk1, i always tell the difference by the nose, a cast lump. The MK11 had a different front.

MK1 ser.no from 20001 1964 to 20043 1965 ?
MK2 ser.no from 21001 1967 to ? then i guess to the Marshall range.

All this you might know, but interesting anyway. The tracks etc are unique i think to Bristol, though i have heard IH chains will fit? any comments ????????????

The shovel equipment on the Challenger One in The Norfolk Show foto.was produced by Bray.
I never saw one of these shovels but I remember reading about the proto-type in "British Engineering Magazine" in the early 1950s. Iwas in my teens then but I have allways been interested.
I have run Challenger and TM tractors since the early 1970s and still have a "working" Challenger 33.
I am attatching foto of TM 1700 shovel which I tried to buy but I haggled to long over the price and lost it.(I think she was cut up)
The engine was a Perkins 6/354 and she was Power Shift.

Thanks - did Bray make loader gear for anybody elses machine as know they did the Bulldoze gear for the Fowler VF crawlers and county crawlers as well as some tractors.

Shame you lost the TM1700 as looking at bucket it looks decent, shame bout the paint job.

What were they like for work as should push ok with a 6354 in them if the transmision was any good.

The only other Bray track shovel I remember (I did some work on one once) is The Bray BL25 based on a County Crawler.
The TM 1700 had a1.5 yard bucket and because the roll back on the crowd was more than most it handled more than most 1.75 machines every bite ,and filled the bucket comfortably.

I had a TM 1100 with MF backhoe in the 1980s. Handy little machine.

I was wrong about the bucket capacity of the 1700 shovel. It was 1.75 cu.yd. (memmory playing tricks again).
