Re: Winget 2S project

Possibly a Morris 3/4 Ton pattern axle, in those circles there are some drum 'blanks' out there that can be machined to suit. Abother option for getting the drum off could be to drill a set of 3 holes diametrically as opposite to each other as you can get through the drum, but not into the hub, then...

Re: Dumper bucket holes

Does anybody know what these 3 stud 16" wheels came from? I know I'm a bit late to the party, but the PCD will almost certainly be that of a pre-war Morris. Our 50's Thwaites Nimline has Morris Commercial 5 stud 16" rims on the front (I know your's are 3 stud) which are the same PCD as La...

Re: JCB 3CX identification

Welcome to the world of working on heavy stuff PJ, and a really useful forum too! If you take a look at some of my posts you'll see that I have a similar machine, all be it 2wd and a Sitemaster, but the controls are broadly the same, and I did my best to detail which fluids can be used instead of th...

Re: 1987 JCB 3CX Sitemaster 2WD

There is a thread on here with details about the king post rebuild, A friend of mine did the job a couple of years back he reckoned it was not too bad to do. Will need to take a dig round for it, but before I start doing the job I want to get my machine shop set up along with my 4 post ramp so I ca...

Re: Hymac 690

I'm with Andrew and Tony on that, my P38 Range Rover with a BMW M51 2.5 Turbo Diesel had been stood for a couple of years and barely run in that time. When I attempted to take it for its first MoT it failed for having a massive oil leak, which I traced to the oil level dipstick and oil being blown o...

Re: 1987 JCB 3CX Sitemaster 2WD

Tiny update on the JCB; of all my vehicles it's the most reliable requiring the least effort to wake from months of slumber out in the Orchard. I think of it as my one vehicle that still loves me regardless. Back in February it was roped in to help with the offloading and shifting about of my projec...
