Re: Temperature gauge
Looks like your gauge sender is faulty. Try the same thing with the wire on the other sender. If you earth it,I think the warning light should come on.(And /or perhaps a buzzer should sound?) That's helpful. Thank you very much. I thought about doing the same to the other sender but was a bit conce...

Re: Temperature gauge
I have finally got back to this job. Today I took the cable off the water temperature sender and made up a cable to attach to the one terminal inside the connector, switched the ignition on, and then touched earth with the other end of my made-up cable. The temp guauge shot up to maximum. Does this ...

Re: JCB Hydra clamp seal
Pah, you've all gone soft. Hydraclamp seals ???? When I started there were the big nuts & bolts but no hydraclamps. Had to get out with a gurt big round box-like spanner and a crowbar and loosen them all off, shove the kingpost acrosss, get back out again and tighten them all up. That's when dig...

Re: Temperature gauge
Hi, As agrimax says. If you want to check the sender itself it's easy with a multi meter. Just set the meter to Ohms to check the resistance in the sender unit. Pull the lead off the sender and tape up for safety. Connect the meter Pos. to the sender connector terminal and the Neg. to ear...

Re: Temperature gauge
has it got two senders one for the light and the other for the gauge ? Oh dear, I've owned and worked with JCBs since 1968 and thought I knew a bit about them but have to confess to not knowing if mine has got a temp. light. It's the front dash Project 8. I must try harder on this. Thanks for every...

Re: Temperature gauge
Thanks for that. I'll investigate further. I should know all about circuits and things but my mind goes blank for some strange reason.

Temperature gauge
1992 3CX project 8. My temperature gauge has stopped working. Can some kind person tell me how to check if it's the sender, the gauge itself, or something inbetween please ? I know it's elementary electrics but me and electrics don't get on too well.
TIA.
TIA.

Re: Massey Ferguson 500 and 515
Understand about the Grockels Richard. Round here it's horses and riders. In my opinion all road-going nags should be made to have road tax and at least 3rd party insurance, an MOT that includes an emmision test, and any drivers should have a valid driving licence. Not being controversial am I ?

Re: Massey Ferguson 500 and 515
For the shows its not so much the HSE at the site but it would be a pain in the proverbial to move them there.....trundling along at 10mph....and the traction belt breaks.....holding up the traffic. Been there - done that. Hope all is well Richard. Haven't chatted for a while. Best wishes - ...
