Re: Comet

Very sorry for all those in danger of loosing their jobs. Comet are blaming their problems on loss of business to Internet sellers. Perhaps they have forgotten what they did to dozens of small TV and white goods businesses that gave good local service. What goes around, comes around? Indeed. I went...

Have you had a spanner on the nuts - check to see if they're all tight.

'Traction-Talk' for the UK. There will be about 10 people who will know the entire history of the thing!

To my mind it looks more like a portable engine as I can't see any motion work from the crank to the hind wheels?

Re: Slippery Cat

I've had the same problem in the wet with the roller. Conveyor belting isn't that good as it tends to get flirted out, the sure fire answer is sheets of cheap plywood laid down on the ramps. It does amaze be that (in this video) the 'professionals' seem to be ill-equipped and willing to risk damage....

Re: Thwaites Nimline Mk1 Axle

I believe you _do_ have to remove the hub first, certainly that looks the way on my Orion. To get the halfshaft out you have to remove the brake backing plate retaining bolts and outer oil seal assembly, taking care to not to lose any of the hub bearing adjusting shims which control axle shaft end f...

Re: jcb 3C II head gasket replacement

How do I check to see if the external core of the radiator is not blocked? Before I detected the bad head gasket (or head I am not sure), the engine would only run for an hour or so then it would die. It did this 3 or 4 times. So I guess it could be that the engine was overheating. I've never check...

Re: jcb 3C II head gasket replacement

Do I need to remove the exhaust manifold? Those bolts look so rusted! Bob I've no JCB experience, but in general terms if you don't fancy your chances with the exhaust manifold then it can stay on provided there's room and you can cope with the extra weight. You'll probably find they do come off th...
