Re: JCB 3C II Hydraulic Pump

YES! Done it. Was a combination of relief valves and pipe-work. Had to reset DRV without a gauge, so now blowing pipes left, right and centre, but all good. More power than it's ever had. Thanks all - especially you Mark. Support much appreciated! :claphands: Way Hay! Well done Nick, glad she's up ...

Re: JCB 3C II Hydraulic Pump

Opps, sorry Nick, yes is the answer. Your m/c is a tad earlier than I thought. You have to whip those off. Might be advisable to drain off some elsewhere first, or get yourself a huge catch tray  Its gets very messy, very quickly! Mark

Re: just got a JCB 3DIII and im a newbie to it all!

Hi Ross, welcome on board. The gearbox should not be too much of a problem to repair, as for the brakes you can see to them while the floor is up! I could start explaining how to go about it, but you need to make a few more posts, then you will be able to download the workshop manual for your machine...

Re: JCB 3C II Hydraulic Pump

Drain off the oil from the tanks either side. I think the bung's are 1"1/8. But maybe 1" come to think of it. There is one each side of course. The strainer is in the nearside tank. If you need more info or a picture to help just ask. Cheers Mark A serial number would be good to!

Re: JCB 3C II Hydraulic Pump

Hi Nick, This sounds very much like the valve block to me. The front loader is working fine! if it was the pump I suspect you would experiencing the problem there too! Have you checked the pick-up strainer? also the excavator valve block is fed after the loader valve. So check all the pipe work betw...

Re: Lift pump trials

The strainer inside the tank trick! I've seen a couple of old 3cs that had a piece cut out of the top of the tank to allow you to clean it out. One i was impressed with had a plate bolted back on to cover it, someone had taken the time to drill and tap the bolt holes, it even had a rubber gasket. T...

Re: jcb 3c3 1977 engine oil leak

The procedure for removing the steering pump is in the workshop manual you can find in the download section. Best to follow that really if you have not done one before. You can blank the feed for the steering, its separate to the main pump feed. Some people will say jack the front of the machine wit...
