Re: CAT D9H/D8K/D7G MODULAR CABS

I would think yellowirons lack of Love for the powershift tractor is a 2 fold issue, firstly the amount of Vimto they can suck down and blow out the chimney, secondly the run away fast factor on a steep batter the oil runs scared of the suction pipe to the transmission pump with the usual result bei...

Re: CAT D9H/D8K/D7G MODULAR CABS

yellowiron, nice snap of the Company Car tugging a bin, the straight pipe is the way to go as it lets the heat fly off the engine plus lets people know you are working, the odd thing is modular cabs (Enclosed Rollover Protective Structure~EROPS) are usualy a bit spendy to buy, the cheaper option of ...

Re: CAT D9H/D8K/D7G MODULAR CABS

The way to tackle the Modular Cab to fit a 22A is realy to cut the modular bit out, it seems sad to destroy a good and usualy expensive structure in this way? there is another style of Cab that is well worth looking at for ideas on how to Fab' up from scratch a ROPS, this is the Fitzwise Cab, the D8...

Re: CAT D9H/D8K/D7G MODULAR CABS

Yellowiron, the 3 cabins in your snaps are firstly Modular (Enclosed Roll Over Protection EROP's) this includes the seat and control panel with pendant brake peddles (hanging down like a D8K) the next snap is a Weather Cab that keeps Bird Shit off the seat and rattles about like a stone in a tin can...

Re: CAT D9H/D8K/D7G MODULAR CABS

Modular Cabins on 22A's might be the wrong route to go, the standard ROPS would be a lot easier way of going from soft cab to safety cab on these tractors, if the modular cabins are cheap enough you will need to chop out the front, floor possibly including seat also bits out of the sides, plus that b...

Re: CAT D9H/D8K/D7G MODULAR CABS

There was a modular foul house to fit a D8 on a Farm I did a D7E F/Drive at last week, I think the owner wanted to sell it as I don't think he has any real plans to fit it on his D8, its just sat in the yard keeping the ground below it dry, if you need any info of the owner just ask. tctractors p.s....

Re: Classic pictures Updated 05/07/2015

The Morshan Scania 140 V8 would be worth a few coins today, I cannot see the No plate detail but it could be from as early as 1968 but I feel it its more probably a 1971 /2 vintage, the D9 I think is sat on a Crane trailer or a King, Morshan Contractors hailed from Chesterfield and ran a mix of big ...

Re: Link Club Event

J.R. the day was first class all ways, Karl and myself fired up to the site with no traffic dramas in the usual spots, after only a few moments at the event I found myself sorting a CAT D4D that had split a gasket in the filter turret, then a bit of rain etc so a chance to catch up with a few people...
