After a couple of fuel starvation issues on the 550 I decided to drain the tank and blow all the lines out. Lots of crappola in the system so a job worth doing. A quick update, and no further forward with this. The supplier was quick to respond and requested depth measurements of the ram sockets - no explanation of exactly how one would measure it taking into account the ram surface is a curved elipse and the base of the fitting is conical. Put a test light or voltmeter between the heater supply lead and battery earth. Turn the key slowly and somewhere between 'ign on' and 'start', you may see the light come on or a current register. If not, try turning the key backwards, see if that does anything.
