Re: Aveling Barford DX8 Roller
Seems like quite a bit of interest in this; A couple of CMN members are coming down to have a look and a test drive. it is a lovely machine and it will be sad to see it go, but my collection keeps growing and evolving and you need to rationalise some times. Nice thing is there are a nice bunch of pe...

Re: Aveling Barford DX8 Roller
Andy Yes it drives and grips well but steep ramps can be a bit hairy even with ply on them. Last time we moved it the ramps on the low loader were a bit savage and we helped it up with a telescopic loader behind it. Winch assistance is always a good comforting feeling! I have also moved it with a fl...

Re: Can Anyone ID this Roller ?
A picture of my Aveling Barford DX8 and my engineers van. This is the roller with the Rustons single cylinder engine.
back to the original photo, I dont know what it is, I think you are saying marshall because of the similarities in the exhaust, but the body panels look different

Re: D7 4T
Its been a long time but we finally got round to sorting the D7. Wish we'd started earlier; once we got to it we found nothing major. The noise it made when we stopped it sounded just like a big end, in fact it was a UJ on the front to the crank to drive the auxiliary pump. Having a few problems wit...

Re: Samsung 180 loader
Sorted it now. Stupid little fault. The lever for the lift arms also has a little clicky gear change button on it (in addition to the main shift stalk on the steering column), right up inside the lever itself one of the wires had chafed and shorted out. One of the those maddening things where an ent...

Samsung 180 loader
Having a few problems with a Samsung loader, great machine, been very reliable. Lost drive on it now, we are pretty sure its not a mechanical problem, it seems to be in the electrics as the digital dash display for the transmission has gone blank. We have had an electrician spend several hours on it...
