If you think that early construction machinery cabs were crude you had a lucky escape! Agricultural tractor cabs were worse - the names Bonser and Fritzmeier were the stuff of nightmares - if they kept the rain out they also offered nil visibility! Seats - as you say, perforated tin pan - luxury sea...

More from the holiday sort out!
These 769s with flat bed bodies (made by Bowmaker I believe) were working on building a breakwater at Port Talbot in 1966/67.

Stokey's first D9

What is the Christmas holiday for? - having a sort out! Came across this pic taken in 1966/67 on the Raglan by-pass - I think. Got several more pics from the same job, Merriman's 657s etc but as this is my first attempt to post a pic I will stick at one!

Three great models - the only blue in my collection!
Early machine with rear CCU operated blade with head ache bar. Later machine with front mounted CCU and finally one with hydraulically operated blade - mine is in Dowsett livery. No towed box yet!
