Considering the Hymac is definitely more than 20 years old it appears from the photos to be in reasnobly good condition for its age...at leasts its not just being held together by grease and dirt like so many.

Reading the comments about hydraulic hammers especially with regards to machine wear I was wondering what people think about Hydraulic Transverse Cutting Units such as those produced by Terex-Schaeff as an alternative to hydraulic hammers?

In the funny old world we live in, for a short period of time Smith, Hymac and Heathfield-Haulamatic were all owned by Northern Engineering Industries (NEI).
