Re: SHAWNEE POOLE
That goose neck drawbar was an important part of the concept of the Shawnee Poole, it gave weight transfer onto the tractor drive wheels and gave excellent manouverability. But with a heavy load or going uphill the transfer could be excessive and you lost the weight on the front axle and had no stee...

Re: Aveling Barford Motor Roller - identify gearbox?
Hi Mike Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I see that you have progressed pretty well already. I can't be of much help to you as the earlier DX rollers have an even simpler crash box and use a pair of cone clutches to select forward and reverse, my box looks nothing like yours which is much...

Re: D7 4T
Yes, Martyn. Haven't seem him for years, used to buy parts off him. Poor old D7 has developed a bit of a rumble at the bottom end. Stopped it quick before we did too much more harm. Before you say anything Ian, YES the driver did keep a good eye on the temp guage. She has always puffed like that! Sh...
Re: D7 4T
Took a while to get the photos off the phone. D7 pushing well and handling as much if not more than the new D6. Where it loses out is on speed on the run back and manouverability. The D6 is on wide tracks and the grousers are fairly low, whereas the D7 has plenty of bite.
Re: D7 4T
TC It is a small world. I don't know much of the history but I did buy it off a man who bought it at Welland. "Ginger" used it on a few jobs and knew that I was a likely candidate for this type of iron and sold it on. It has been sat for the last year or two on my cousins farm near Tenbury...
Re: D7 4T
TC Right and wrong. You definitely know where it is but don't ever go near the place and say it is Bulmers, it definitely ain't, although some of the apples might belong to them! The site is supposedly now the largest in Europe, they certainly have rather a lot of Bucher kit. Nice to know that someo...
