Re: Blaw Knox Pavers
Interesting to see the KG Hoes/dynapac 850 screed on the back of a BK90.When I worked for Tarmac it was decided to fit Bitelli extending screeds to our PF/BK90s as we had two BK95s with Blaw Knox telescreeds which proved to be more trouble than they were worth. The Bitelli screed was a fairly good sc...

Re: Jcb vibromax 90 strapping warning
Hi
You got off lightly chaining over the pivot can cause failure of the casting and much expense, a lot of hire companies now fit stickers advising not to chain over the pivot. As for Greenshields leaving a bridge in a safety device totally bad practice and the engineer should be on a written warning.

Re: Dowsett/ RM Douglas
These photos bring back memories of when my father worked on the M20 wrotham section. After being laid off at the Howard Doris Loch Kishorn yard he was taken on by Dowsett to drive a JCB 3C and I remember after a few days on site came home saying that while going round the nepicar roundabout the fron...

Re: Blaw Knox Pavers
Hi Micheal Drawings are of the era when Blaw Knox was under the ownership of the Babcock group and was of the earlier Bk 90 with round handrails so dates from around 1978/79.The reason for the launch of the BK range was to improve on noise levels and safety over the PF series.I worked as an apprenti...

This is my first post on the forum so I must say hello to everyone. After a brief spell with Tilcon I completed my fitting apprenticeship with Tarmac in their workshops at Ditton and Snodland in Kent. Some of the plant shown in the photos I have worked on, the Bristowes chip spreader was on hire to A...
