The 2D is basically an updated 2B where as the 2B had the 3 cyl nuffield engine the 2D had the 4cyl leyland engine fitted , i would think its a fairly easy swap and as you say definately more power too.

Just came across this being sold on EBay item no 223670360138 he has several pieces for the back end for sale I am pretty sure mk2 and mk3 king posts are the same. Another contact you could try is Simon Vicary he breaks jobs.

If I am correct I think you can get a replacement pin for the king post. I would have a look on "done deal" which has machinery For sale and several machinery breakers advertising in it over in Ireland. I would think it's a similar job to doing the kingpost on a 3cx where you prop the back...

On 3C and 3D mk2 & 3 it's usually the orbital steering valve that packs up and leaks, I would contact Simon Vicary just google Vicary JCB and his website will come up, he breaks machines and is very helpfull.

As Fred says HD90 gear oil, I have just done my 3cx slew box, let it drain for a few hours, As if it has not been done for a while there will be a mixture of oil, water and sludge, I poured oil in with the drain plug out so I flushed more sludge though, you can get your finger inside the drain hole ...

Ford / New Holland backhoe buckets
I am looking for backhoe loader buckets suitable for a late Ford/ New Holland backhoe loader with 45 mm pins and with a bracket width of 205mm. I am after a 5 ft grading bucket and 12 inch trenching.

Loving that old Massey 50 picture the cabs were glass fibre so no rust problems with those, brings back alot of memories as a kid playing on them!
