Re: D7 4T

Rain stopped play this week. Not really much point in stripping top soil and turning into slurry. I did escape from the office when the beast arrived on the lorry. (my driver wasn't around and no-one else really fancied it). Some skinned knuckles and swearing later I got it started and had a gentle ...

Re: FOWLER

Hi Ian Thanks for your post on the D7. Yes I am nearer home again, just 40 miles away, but still long hours. Managing the build of an effluent plant and have since been dumped with all the other civil engineering jobs on a 60 acre factory site, so not much spare time. I don't know if you ever got ho...

D7 4T

Just fired up the old faithfull. Not just a toy, this one is off to do a job tomorrow. Ignore the homemade "ROPS" this machine is otherwise absolutely straight and original apart from an early retro fit of the Birtley 12' hydraulic blade. 1944 US Army issue, still olive green under the Cat...

Re: Fordson Powered Roller

My guess is an Aveling Barford. They made some for the war department in WWII, originally fitted with a 6 cylinder petrol engine. Most of them were converted by the civillian owners once the military sold them on as they were very thirsty on petrol. The first ones into civillian life often had E27N ...

You can download the engine manual for your DX from Internal Fire Museum http://www.internalfire.com/ if you become a member or subscriber. I have already got the manual from...

Re: Tractor wheel off

Gillon, yeah what a guy. Had an Ontop tractor on hire from him once, he drove it himself down from Scotland to Herefordshire, towing a trailer and then his van hooked on the back of it all. Red diesel all the way and his theory was that the rig was so fast that no-one noticed that it shouldn't have ...

Re: FOWLER

Ian sorry I havent' been back to you with any replies lately. I think at some stage I may have said that I needed more time to work on my "toys", well as they say be careful what you wish for. My company has been put into administration by Bank of Scotland three weeks ago, so I just lost m...

Re: FOWLER

Ian I have got just the one book, it is operators manual and workshop manual. Don't know if there is a more detailed manual for fitters but I have never seen one. As you can see from the sample pages it is plenty detailed enough, after all they are prettty simple and basic machines. I have no idea w...
