Re: Maggie Thatcher - milk snatcher
What a good post from Fred, someone who could see things for what they were. I have had an easy life compared with all those who lost their heavy industry jobs from the late 70s onwards so I am not best placed to comment but had she not stepped in with her ruthless economics where would the 80s have...

Re: Hymac 850 BT
Is that a trailer than can drop it bin?
How much of that model Hymac carried over to the 580D? I see it has a non standard ram collar on the bucket. Seems like a weakness on the early rams.

Re: Thwaites 6000 - Clutch woes
I would think the clutch plate has stuck to flywheel at a guess. I leave our old 4000 with the clutch wedged for this reason (rightly or wrongly).
If you have some space you might get it freed off by all sorts of unorthodox methods.

Re: help me identify my dumper please
It does look like a similar style to the Thwaites Nimbus/Orion models but the 60s model we had was left hand drive.

I think there is a dedicated Nuffield/Leyland forum. You might ask on here http://thefarmingforum.co.uk/index.php I think you can sign into that one fairly easily.

Re: Can anyone tell me anything about this?
On a second look I think you can see the back hoe has the spool block mounted with a swing seat on the top of the king post. Did the early MF 40s come with that set up? I thought the all had the flip over seats from the tractor.

Re: Kirkby Steven Classic Truck and Bus Event Easter
Not colours that I would choose on first thought but the Atkinson big screen looks like a show stopper. Looks like a major skid on on the trailer which must be older than the Unit. The Leyland Oct looks good as well.
Thanks for posting.

Re: Can anyone tell me anything about this?
The cab looks like the type that was fitted to MF 40 when fitted with a loader and sometimes a back hoe. The one I drove years ago on a farm did not have the hoe badged separately tothe tractor. We had an old MF 203, the loader was 720 and the hoe 220.
