Re: Pel Job EB12.4
Can you take off the seat and remove the panel behind the seat? You don't need to take the canopy off for that. I never had to touch the starter on ours but I did need to access that side for a water hose IIRR.

Re: Fowler 170hp gyrotiller engine
My late Uncle remembered one being used on the neighbouring farm in Gt Wakering, Essex. Not an entirely successful machine, awkward to move and it seemed to destroy the soil structure. Apparently some of the old farm boys reckoned it took years for the ground to recover. Hi Pete, They said the same...

Re: JCB 3C torque converter oil
Ah yes! it probably wants drain down (Is there a suction strainer on this model?) clean oil and run for a little then drain down again. You cannot usually get all of the fluid out.

As an edit I cannot remember where the t/con dip and fill was for this model but if you are next to the brakes you might be looking at the rear axle oil which sounds as though ...

When I stayed there as a kid they were rope operated grabs with 2 or 3 a dredgers with one called Polo as it had a hole in the middle. The dredgers used to be loaded so the decks were awash.

Re: JCB 3CX 1983 Clutch Pack
Another alternative would be to drop out the shuttle and gearbox, and send the shuttle unit to Simon Vicary at Vicary plant. He will exchange a repairable unit for 650+VAT. There would be a surcharge if there is major component damage.
