Re: MF & Fermec
[quote="Martyn Henley"] And next is the forerunner of the MF40, the Massey Ferguson 220... Hi Martyn Thats the first back-hoe/loader I ever drove (1962), the model was the 203, the digger end was the 220. It was a great little machine in its day. I had a 220 back-hoe on a Marshall TM1000 t...

Re: Roadless Tractors
Hello All, No this is "NOT" a Fordson County crawler. Its a 40 h.p. Roadless J.17, it had Roadless "rubber jointed" tracks and unlike the County it had clutch and brake steering. It was produced from 1954 to 58 and superceded by the Power Crawler with the 48 h.p. Power Major engi...

This may be a little off subject too, but here goes. My neice is married to a great Austrailian guy who runs a road surfacing business in Queensland. His company received a speeding ticket  and went to court knowing that thy could not be guilty. They asked to see the photographi...

Re: George Fowell OR Fowler Dumpers
Funny looking things , still can't work out how they steer. Suppose the rear drive arrangement was to keep weight of engine and driver over driven wheels when unladen , but when loaded all the weight will be on the skinny front tyres and steering! Yes Craig, it does seem odd but there were a few mo...

Hello James ,
I dont know the 121, but what happens when its running and you close the dump valve you fitted.
Could it be a blocked return line filter or other restriction in the line.

Re: George Fowell OR Fowler Dumpers
Hello Craig, Well researched, I knew the company was George Fowell but wasn't going to be arrogant enough to insist. I remember them well, a contractor had one working on an extension to my school in the mid 50's, (seemed to spend most of its time stuck), and there was one in a corner of a mates yar...

Hi Pete, I remember Williams & Griffiths, these Scammels were hauling large crushed limestone from Cornelly Quarry to Margam Steel Works. I had a lorry carrying ground limestone on the same run. I dont remember which, but I think it was the Gardener engined trucks had the exhaust across the fron...
