Re: Priestman Excavators
Hello Everyone, Just reading through the Priestman posts. There are a few unanswered questions I think I can help with, particularly about the 220. Re: Poclain 75 A Nice find.
Indeed Fred the 5LW but not as well balanced as the 8LXB straight eight, now they were an engine and a half. :P Jeremy Certainly were!! Company I worked for had a boat The MV Stanney with a 22 RB directly mounted on the deck which they used for piling. She was powered by a marinised Gardner 8LW whi...

Re: B85 loaders
Hello Again Martyn,
I agree the 85 slew gear is lighter and probably less reliable.I was wrong, there are clutches.
Heres an illustration of the system and how it works.

Re: B85 loaders
Hello Martyn I put pistons and sleves in a B85 which belonged to a man from Newport in about 1966 it was the same engine as the Internetional 414 tractor. I don't remember much about the rest of the machine but I thought it was based on the BTD5 crawler which was made at Doncaster from 1963 to 69 wi...

Re: Poclain 75 A Nice find.
Hello All Can't be many 75's as clean and straight as this one. The quick-hitch had to be a bit different because the crowd pin on the buckets was half the length and much smaller diameter than the front pin. As far as five cylinder engines seeming a wierd configuration goes Gardners always claimed ...
