Re: Hanomag 22C high lift

This machine has proved so usefull on the farm and with my plant business i decided to upgrade her with something faster on the road and a little more poke. The machine i chose was a JCB 412s i bought it cheap as a ongoing project needing a fair bit of attention but i'm slowly getting through it unf...

Re: Multidrive - Another David J Brown company

The Clayton Buggy was developed by http://www.eaclayton.com/ Eric and son Ian Clayton, i used to work on the farm during harvest many years ago, the prototype was based on dumper axles and a Diahatsu fortrack engine gearbox and transfer box and is now owned by a nearby farmer. Apparantly JCB showed ...

Re: Why oh why do people do things like this

Its not got the detail of the filter that I was after, there seems to be two springs and a screen filter on the pump inlet, but I cant work out what the smaller spring is supposed to be doing. It looks a little like it should have a ball bearing on it or something to act like a non return valve but...

Re: Servo controls

I understand that Fendt are highly regarded machines. As I understand it these machines are reliant on microprocessors for operation of much of the equipment and services. I really wonder what Fendt's game plan will be in 20 or 30 years time regarding product support for your tractor which by then ...

Re: Servo controls

I have owned and operated 11 excavators in the last 15 years and the only time i have ever had problems with the control leavers was with a Kubota KH101 with mechanical linkage, the linkage would wear badly, break and you had to open the cab door to slew left  all the other machines has hydrau...

Re: land draining

Most of my work especially this year involves land drain maintance and repair, the farm i'm working at this week has a seam of peat running through and in one pasture i have been jetting and renewing drains, amazingly there are 3 main's, one 12" and two 6" and all running near to capacity ...

Thwates gearbox trouble

Hi, i have a 1990 Thwates 7000 3 tonne dumper resting in the corner of the yard for about 6 months with a knackerd gearbox, no grinding or nasty noises now or before the box broke just no drive in 1 2 3 and R but drives fine in 4, it's a Newage box. Before the box died the selectors were worn, ok if...
