Re: 1984 JCB 3CX rear Brakes
More than likely the problem is the master cylinders, they may not be leaking, what happens is the pistons do not return fully, when that happens the cylinder does not get a full charge of fluid and the travel of the piston when the pedal is pressed is shorter even though the pedal goes lower,to test i...

Undo the two hoses and cap them to prevent oil loss, remove the pin from the rod eye and then the one from the cylinder end, lift the unit out,if you are removing it to reseal you only need to remove the hoses and the pin from the rod end, take the wheel off out of the way,put something under the other...

Re: Thwaites Alldrive axel oil leak
Take the wheel off, secure the machine so it is higher on that side so the oil won't spill out, take out the half-shaft,remove the hub retaining nut/s,remove the hub,the seal is on the inside,no special tools required.

Re: A rare Priestman
I'v been around a fair few machines in my near sixty years in the plant repair business and have never come across that type of track adjustment,I can't figure out why they would have gone to that trouble with a system that would be taking power from the engine all the time, how did they cope with th...

Re: JCB 805B
The rule of thumb for the hydraulic oil level in most 360° machines is the bucket flat on the ground and the dipper stick vertical, that will leave most of the cylinders halfway.

Re: JCB 805B
The power slide works the same as the side shift on the rubber tyred backhoe, move the lever to release the oil, pick up the boom and put it back down again, push or pull the power slide to the required position, put the lever in lock and curl up the bucket which will lock the clamp, done.

Re: Gradall with Telestick on Vacation
I don't think Gradall ever made a digger with a conventional boom, I do seem to remember that it was them that made the first hydraulic excavator in the early forties due to a shortage of manpower because of the war, there was one or two of them that I came across here in the UK back in the sixties b...
