Re: Hydraulic breaker

Having driven JCB's for many years I can honestly say I don't know how to fit a breaker to one. What I would do is dig a hole beside the rock, throw the breaker in the bottom, tip the rock in, backfill and the jobs a good un.

Re: Pressing liners out of a Perkins P3 TA

When they get thin enough you can then break them out. Push the new ones in with a hydraulic press and then bore / hone to size.I think you have to bum...

Re: V8 FORDSON POWER MAJOR

Well I obviously don't know what I am talking about, but if you have never seen a fordson dual clutch that has " let go " then dont believe that 3 times the hp will only make it slip. The dual clutch will end up in many parts when the levers and the turrets etc stop holding hands. Of cours...

Re: Ransomes

Sorry but Ransomes only fitted there own engines to MG crawlers except for the Drayton diesels on later machines. The thought of something like a honda engine on such a machine is pretty dire. MG2, MG5, MG6 and MG40 is the way the models go. Ken

Re: V8 FORDSON POWER MAJOR

Yes it will probably be ok to use the dual clutch but there is always that one time when you want to see what it will do. And what it will do is explode the clutch into many parts as you will have about 95 more horses going through it if it is a standard v8 perkins, more if a turbo.Be good to see so...

Re: V8 FORDSON POWER MAJOR

As big a one as possible ! When we put a six cylinder engine in a Major we just used the clutch which was on the engine, which was out of a lorry and about 120hp. It worked for a long time and eventually destroyed the pto gears, but the clutch never gave trouble. I dont think you should use the doub...
