Re: Crawler
Hi, D65EX-12. That jigger is a Fowler VF crawler with a dozer blade fitted - early-mid 1950s and NOT one of the better machines in its class from that era. Single cylinder, horizontal, fore-n-aft, approx. 25 - 30 hp, 2 stroke diesel with either cartridge start or hand start with a powder-impregnated...

Re: Answers on a postcard...!
Hi, Dah.
That is a mock-up of an International TD24 crawler tractor - way over-sized. The TD24 was around 180 hp and 26-27 tons fully rigged as a dozer in its last version, roughly D8 plus a couple of tons and about 20 - 30 hp.
Just my 0.02.

Re: D9T Transportation
Hi, Folks. I think it would be a pretty safe bet that the float with the D9T is somewhat wider than a normal road-going float as a D9N, R or T would have the tracks over-hanging a normal float deck. I'd venture to suggest that it is a site float and they are simply carrying the machine from one part...

Re: cat fuel system
Hi, LonesomeGeorge. Unfortunately, I don't have the parts book page(s) for the D4 Fuel system. All I have is a schematic which does not show a non-return valve, only an overflow/bypass/relief valve in the transfer pump body. If this does not help, you could go to ACMOC, register on the forum (Free) ...

Re: TAURUS BRIEF ESCAPE FROM SHED
Hi, Taurus Mk1.
Nice photos of a nice-looking loader. Not a brand I have come across before. What is the 'parentage' of the brand?
A kew-ree-yus mind would like to know.

Re: Whilst looking for some info; found an interesting web page and a query!
Hi, Gavin P. Many of the zero swing units also have rounded front outer corners on the cabs and sliding doors to enable access in tight spaces. Looking for that extra space in the panel work behind the boom is a good indicator of whether it is a zero tail swing or a zero swing machine. Boom and boom...

Re: Whilst looking for some info; found an interesting web page and a query!
Hi, Gavin and Widget. There is a difference between 'zero tail swing' and 'zero swing'. Zero tail swing machines only keep the back end/counterweight within the track frame footprint when slewing. The boom/dipper/bucket are all still outside the track footprint. Zero swing machines are able to raise...

Re: cat fuel system
Hi, Lonesomegeorge. Inside that tower in front of and above the governor and injector pumps, there will be either a paper element filter or four string filters on rods. You need to take the top off that tower and check them to see if they are choked up. There is also a bleed screw on that tower to h...

Re: Fiat dozer, might be a BD14?
Hi, Gavin Phillips. AD14 = angle dozer - BD14 = bulldozer. If you take a close look at the FULL-sized version of your photo on the flickr site, you may just notice the front corner of a similar-looking tank - hydraulic tank - INSIDE the right hand side, behind the doorway, of the cab of the dozer in...
