What switch for manifold heater?

So my 1700B has a push bottom near the ignition switch to heat up the manifold for cold weather starts. My recently acquired 1400B does not have this push button. Any idea on how to actuate the manifold heater? Looking at the manual, it says the ignition switch but my switch does not have this featu...

Re: weights for front end - 87 3CX?

Went to look at a 86 1400b for a parts machine and this unit had weight in the front. Guess this was added later. Sorry pic is upside down.

Cylinder eye was cut off with a lathe and rewelded after packaging was changed out. shop said that is how they are made with dowels to center the eye. Looks like a clean job....time for installation.

dropped it off to have the eye cut off and a 1/2 alignment dowel fitted to the eye and rod so the eye and rod are aligned during welding.

Re: How to repack w welded piston jcb3cx-1400

I discussed w local hyd cylinder rebuilder and they thought the shaft was heat treated and the eye could not be cut off. Does anyone know if the shaft is heat treated?

Is the boom cylinder Interchangeable with 1550B or 1700B? or any other JCB model?

Re: How to repack w welded piston jcb3cx-1400

Trouble is you can't replace the glad seals if they need it. You are right though if the gland seals are still ok, then replacing the piston seal and putting it back together is probably the best approach. (also, you can continue searching for a replacement) Piston seals are replaceable as they are...

Re: How to repack w welded piston jcb3cx-1400

I did visit my local welder and he thought he could grind the weld out and reweld it after packing change....$500 USD or less. It would be nice to fix it right thought. Thanks for your suggestions! Or prayers....

Removed my boom cylinder (lots of fun) to repack and found the piston is welded to the shaft. Any options on split seals? Or just start search for used boom cylinder? its a 1987 machine. Or find a used piston?

Rookie mistake....the seal carrier was stuck together with the cylinder rod stabilizer. Once apart, it was evident the correct seal and guide location.
Back together and leak free.

Re: Seal order - repacking loader lift cylinder 1400B

the seal with the o rings is the outer most seal (with o-ring toward piston). its the order of the other two rings....call it wear ring in pic three. is that the final seal ring towards piston with the black seal in the middle?
