JCB 3C Mkll Throttle Linkages - Another question!
Firstly, I must say what a helpful and friendly bunch are the people who populate this forum. (Dodgy grammar alert!). I was asking some questions about Kingpost hoses a few weeks ago and answers were immediately forthcoming. On the subject of the throttle assemblies on the 3C Mk2, I am in the proces...

I managed to get the paint off the sight tube. I used emery (1200grit) and cutting compound because I wanted a quick fix and hoped the finer abrasive might clean off any external oxidation etc. I don't like using harsh chemicals on plastics or rubber in case they start to degrade them. I might just ...

Re: JCB 3C Mk2 KingPost Photos?
All really useful stuff here guys. Firstly, the flag. When I signed up, there wasn't the choice of a Scottish Saltire (but Wales is on the list?), So opted for the most obscure flag I could choose!!!! Been getting the 3C (now named 'Chum' after the nickname of a farming family member) a bit closer t...

Re: JCB 3C Mk2 KingPost Photos?

Any ideas how I check levels by dipping and where? pps Attached is photo of my new Toy/Torture just about to be offloaded after its trip from Per...

Re: JCB 3C Mk2 KingPost Photos?
Brilliant info and a great start. Thanks for the tips as to getting access etc. I have been grubbing around under the JCB today (until the rain started and it was too dark to see what I was doing underneath). I've been taking things easy as I'm aware that lots of bits will be rusted on solid, and ro...

JCB 3C Mk2 KingPost Photos?
Hello I'm new to this site, so apologies for faux pas with style, content etc. I've just bought a 1972 JCB 3CMkII and it has all the maladies you'd expect including zero brakes, zero steering and years of bodges and patch ups. My biggest (current) problem is the backhoe piping. Around the Kingpost i...
