Re: 1988 Jcb 3cx Alternator/Tachometer
Hi, I currently have the same issue with the tachometer on my 1989 grey cab 3CX. As suggested the 'W' connection/post on the alternator is where the tachometer wire should be connected and you could test the output from this with a voltmeter just to make sure there is an output. If not, I have been ...

Re: Staliser ram rebuild.
Hi
Thanks very much for your answer to my question.
When I reassemble the piston to the rod how do you get the dowel to line up with the hole in the rod? Do you just drill a new hole or do you mark the piston and rod before removal?
Thanks in advance.
Sam.

Staliser ram rebuild.
Hi, just a quick question but I have the barrel off the stabilizer ram and now I need to remove the piston so I can replace the seals.
Is the piston held in place by a Allen bolt which is under the seals?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Stabilizer leg pin.
Thanks to essexpete and super6954 for your replies it is much appreciated!
I eventually got a friend who works on plant for a living to heat the pin up then use a 60tonne press to push it out.
Thanks, Rothers

Stabilizer leg pin.
Hi, I have a leaking ram on one of my stabiliser legs of my 1990 grey cab 3CX. I spent a few hours getting the seized retaining bolt out but I then tried to knock the bottom pin out and after a great deal of effort with my 14 lb hammer it won’t move a mm? I reolise this is pretty straight forward on...

1990 3CX with wobbly legs!
Morning, My 1990 JCB 3CX has quite a lot of lateral movement on the stabiliser legs when jacked up. I am aware the later models have wear pads that can be changed but this model does not. Is the only solution to weld some pads on the inside of the leg housing or can anyone suggest an alternative rem...

Re: 1990 JCB 3CX Tachometer.
Hi thanks for the replies! Ian, I have the same instrument panel as the top one shown in your pictures. I have had it out and there is no sign of anywhere to attach a mechanical drive cable so I’m sure it is electronic. The temp gauge is not working either so it could be linked? I had no lights but ...

I have a 1990 3CX and the tachometer is not working.
Is the tacho on this model controlled electrinically by a sensor on the alternator?
Also, could anyone suggest the best method of fault finding please?
Thanks in advance.
