Hymac 580 C Staffa Motor Spool seals

As some of you know, I have a 1981 Hymac 580C and since I acquired her in 2016, she has had a problem with less retardation on the slew, when swinging to the right...Swinging left is fine..She will also creep slightly to the right on level ground...while loading a trailer on an incline it is worse. ...

Hymac 580 C Rotary Distributor

I'm intending to replace the seals in the Rotary Distributor of my Hymac 580C..I have the seal kit and the workshop manual but I'm going to need the blanking caps...does anyone know what size they are? It looks pretty straightforward but are there any pitfalls I'm likely to run into? Thanks in advan...

Re: Hymac Excavators

I've seen on another forum that HPS (graham Richie) have stopped stocking HYmac Parts...Is there anyone else?

Re: Hymac 580C slew motor seals

The fact that there are two types of motor doesn't surprise me...it was the same with the cross-line relief valve..I may try to do it at some stage but for general clearing as I'm using the machine for at the moment, it's not insurmountable... Just as a side thought....what would be the effect if I ...

Re: Hymac 580C slew motor seals

Thanks Fred...I had never even thought of re-torqueing the motor back in...It's a job I will put on the back burner for now...

Re: Hymac 580C slew motor seals

Thanks Jeremy...I previously have rebuilt the transmission gearbox and have many years experience servicing old tractors on the farm but I am reluctant to do the slew motor as it might not be so straight-forward. I intend to do the rotary distributor seals when I next get the machine back to the ya...

Hymac 580C slew motor seals

Hi...as I've previously posted, my Hymac is very sloppy on the slew..she tends to creep to the right, when I am on a hill although turning to the left is ok and she holds ok.. I've changed check line valves and checked the cross-line relief valve, bled the suction tank and keep her topped up with hy...

Re: Hymac 580BT 1969

Hi Jeremy...I see you are getting on well with your Hymac...she is looking good. I see you are intending to rebuild the bucket ram...Mine was leaking pretty badly too, so in the end, I replaced the seals about 18 months ago. It is a more difficult job than you can imagine due to the weight and size ...

Re: Wiring problem on Hymac 580 C

It has taken me a while to get round to this, but as I am recovering from an operation, I.ve had some time to get on with it...I will update how I have progressed. I did as Fred suggested and found that the white wires were the live, in the control panel, and that they feed fuse two (2nd from left) ...
