Re: rare scraper more pics

I know there is still one surviving Twin-six in NZ as well as several scraper bowls that have been converted to towed units used with wheel tractors and there was a complete machine in working condition for sale in Australia a few years back but that's all I know of. There are still a number of towe...

Re: IH2T55 scraper

Hi Malcolm,
Have you seen the remains of the 2T55's/75's in Kaikohe or Kaitia? There is also one on the site of the Clay mine up past Whangarei with a couple of KW-Dart dumptrucks. Have some photos packed away somewhere.
Regards, Ron Nash (dozeron).

Re: rare scraper more pics

Hi all, Havn't been on the board for sometime. Saw the photos of the NZ manufactured Hewco ''Twin Six'' motorscraper. Hewco built approx 11 machines in NZ and Australia and one single powered unit. Jock Wright, the designer of the scrapers and the company owner was good enough to give me access to h...

Close call!!

1960s shot of my brothers machine when a cutting sidebank caved in on him. He was pulling a ripper, breaking ground prior to tractors & scoops, (boxes) coming in to cut out. He saw it coming and was able to bail out of the dozer, a A-C HD15. No damage, dug it out with a NCK 304 navvy and back in...

1950s

Hi all, Found this shot taken in the 1950s near my home town of Morrinsville, North Island, NZ. This was a job that I was told was done by my dad and the local transporter operator who owned the A?160 and lowloader. This guy used to move my dads machines round the country from job to job. This barge...

Re: Early ADTs

Hi all,
This is a shot I took of a Camill dumper in NSW, Australia back in March 2002. It was still in regular use and sitting in a contractors yard after completing a job, enjoy.
Regards, dozeron.

Re: Moving Ã…kerman H9 whith dolly and truck

Hi Martin, Good to see you on the board. That idea of yours reminds me of when my dad got started in earthmoving back in New Zealand just after WW2. There was no money around and even less equipment to work with. If they didnt come up with ideas and solutions to problem etc they just didnt survive. ...

Re: Komatsu F/Shovel in NZ.

Hi Ray,
You could be right about Swaps now owning the quarry. At that time it was owned by Metal Haulage. The Eucs were ex Wilkins & Davies if I remember correctly.
