Re: The way we were

Fred you are a legend those pictures are great and remind me of watching machines loading and unloading off the side, I always remember watching an artic with one of Wimpys JCB 3C MK2's unloading off the side using the backhoe to swing itself around happy times.

1993 3cx starter motor wiring

Hi Gents, I am trying to sort out a starter problem on a Project 8 3cx that does not start, I thought it was a problem with a connection as you can turn the key and you get the buzzer and warning lights loud and clear then when you go and turn to start you get nothing, I have replaced the positive b...

Re: 2B 4 cylinder?

The 2D is basically an updated 2B where as the 2B had the 3 cyl nuffield engine the 2D had the 4cyl leyland engine fitted , i would think its a fairly easy swap and as you say definately more power too.

Re: JCB 3CII Kingpost issues

Just came across this being sold on EBay item no 223670360138 he has several pieces for the back end for sale I am pretty sure mk2 and mk3 king posts are the same. Another contact you could try is Simon Vicary he breaks jobs.

Re: JCB 3CII Kingpost issues

If I am correct I think you can get a replacement pin for the king post. I would have a look on "done deal" which has machinery For sale and several machinery breakers advertising in it over in Ireland. I would think it's a similar job to doing the kingpost on a 3cx where you prop the back...

Re: Neath Steam & Vinttage show 2019

Great pictures I would love to get to that show one year, I love that old Ford 13-6 Autodig what a lovely straight old machine reminds me of being a kid during the 70's playing on them! I also noticed amongst the JCB's a very clean 3D mk3 does anyone have any more pictures of that one. Is Martyn sti...

Re: Jcb 3c mk2 no steering any info much appreciated

On 3C and 3D mk2 & 3 it's usually the orbital steering valve that packs up and leaks, I would contact Simon Vicary just google Vicary JCB and his website will come up, he breaks machines and is very helpfull.

Re: 3c3 kingpost oil

As Fred says HD90 gear oil, I have just done my 3cx slew box, let it drain for a few hours, As if it has not been done for a while there will be a mixture of oil, water and sludge, I poured oil in with the drain plug out so I flushed more sludge though, you can get your finger inside the drain hole ...
