[Sorry cannot help with a photo , but if you remove the seat and battery the bolts will be seen to be removed.

Thank you Trevor and Jeremy for your replies. The digger is used for groundwork around a lake in the Cotswold so it has been exposed to the elements. Therefore, it appears that heat is the solution so I will have to find someone with an Oxy acetylene equipment and try to heat the bolt to free it.

Managed to find replacement female connectors on ebay for a couple of pounds and replaced them in old plug . things are now sorted and no boiling battery as voltage now does not exceed 14.6v when charging....

Latest. Replaced alternator every thing was fine, when I put everything back together the light was back on..... Took it apart found I broke the L wire connectiion on connector block side on loom when refitting obviously its was brittle. Anyone got any ideas where to buy a new replacement connector ...

Thank you Pete for the pdf manual for the JCB 801 The manual quite doesn't cover my machine as it is older. However, it more than explained the electrics bar a few diodes in circuit I can say it is almost identical. So armed with the information I discovered 1. What I thought was an alternator light...

Hi Jeremy
I am Ok with the use of a multi meter, My problem is to try to get access to a electrical drawing to see what is missing. As there is a 18v reading on the battery when running the engine I am assuming that the regulator is not latching one of the relays to reduce the output.

Fitted the new regulator still the same problem 18volts on the battery when running.
Has anyone got a electrical drawing for the regulator and alternator? Or can you advise on how to locate the fault any help will be appreciated.
