Re: jcb troubles

You may find when working the machine there may be enough movement in the power train to work your shuttle out of drive with a solid shaft.
Have you tried Ontrack machinery for the cable? they have it and i think ship to your side of the pond.

Re: JCB 3CX engine?

Just an observation, are you sure you need to open the engine? Before i tore it down i would do a compression test/ leak down test. Top of the engine looks like you have some heavy leakage. A worn injection pump or low pop pressure on the injectors will cause it to run poorly, start hard and smoke. ...

Re: jcb troubles

If you are going through the trouble to open up the Shuttle i would just plan on a total overhaul. If the bevel spring failed and someone ran it trying to make it work you are going to have metal shards in the case and converter. If i had some pix I could show you the damage to the forward piston. I was able to source parts for an overhaul, I have about $1350 US in it. It is not a bad job to do. The hardest part is removing it from the H...

I have also heard of the block issue. They are spendy to replace the engine here in the States. Other than that they seem to have a good reputation here.

Re: Desperately seeking help! 1983 JCB 3CX Manual 4 Speed backhoe problems

Agree, Check the Trans oil. Is this a new problem or a new machine to you?
I would also check the cable that operates the bell crank on the side of the trans. You should also have about .001" clearance on the button if I am correct.( behind bell crank)
