Re: D7E running a little warm
Just an update, finished cleaning the core and bolted everything back on. Hopefully test run the tractor and fit the blade this weekend, but with DCPC Saturday and a dodgy forecast might be wishfull thinking! Just a few hours working on a old Cat makes you appreciate good old school engineering, unl...

Re: D7E running a little warm
Now your making me feel guilty TC, i'm afraid mine will be a make do job.
With a clean radiator and a hose pipe flush for the block she should be right for the odd working day.

D7E running a little warm
Not really a project, just a little fine tuning. Slowly putting the 7E right one problem at a time, good tractor really but rust and scale in cooling system always mean one eye on the temp. Finaly found time and energy to pull the rad and have a look.(with the help of a deadline hopefully Sib...

Re: CATERPILLAR D8 David 22a
Thank's Nicky, Dieseldave, i did question my sanity before the rebuild but H,s in good running order are still pricey and once we'd started, it had to be finished. It had been robbed of the usual parts heads, rad core, power take off shafts and winch wearing parts, most of which i found by buying a ...

Re: CATERPILLAR D8 David 22a
Thank's Nicky, she's not rebuilt to your high standard's but good enough for a few hour's a year mole draining on our farm, plus a bit of blade work for fun. It's ex Mitcham's of Burwell, i puchased it about four year's ago.

Re: Dead D4D 44H
Thanks Martyn, i've tried some gentle persuasion and the pump housing runs full of fuel on this model. Hoping to have the time to tare it down and find out exactly where and what the jamming or seizing is, apart from this problem its a lovely genuine ag D4 that will still be used for ploughing, cult...

Dead D4D 44H
I've been asked by a friend if i can help find the problem with his D4D. From his description, it sounds as if the injection pump has jammed in the stop position. He was cultivating with the tractor pulling well, he parked up stopped the engine and ever since no life can be coaxed out of it. With no...
