Re: Ph 2 problem

New piston and rings are in, had injectors serviced and rebuilt, stripped down the pumps and reground valve and rained the tank and filled with fresh deisel... and it wouldnt start on the handle. Jumped it off no bother though, so Im hoping now the rings are bedded in a little it may start on the ha...

Re: Ph 2 problem

Finally got a warm enough day today to tackle the nuts holding the heads on - seized solid, but a bit of heat got them moving. Findings - nothing too serious sadly. Rear most piston is fine, as are rings. Valves look ok too. Front piston rings ok, but piston body has damage between rings. I just can...

Re: Ph 2 problem

So far Iv managed to studiously ignore it, but it hasnt gone away :D
To be fair though its been wet, cold, and not an ideal time for ordering bits, so Iv left it in one piece for the moment.
Maybe tomorrow....

Happy days :arrrrgh:

Ph 2 problem

Hi guys, A little help if you can please. I have a 1976 Benford forklift running a ph2 engine. It has always been a poor starter, requiring a liberal dose of easy start to get it going. It also refused point blank to ever start when warm. Anyway, last week while I was using it to clear snow, it star...

Re: Thwaites Tusker Digger Wanted

Just done my clutch, so thought Id share some hard learnt wisdom! If youre taking the clutch out, this might help. Firstly, rather than remove the back panel, I would strongly advise leaving it in situ - it comes in very handy when removing the spring. Before that though... Remove the centre pin fro...

Re: Thwaites Tusker Digger Wanted

Hi - I cant help you with the clutch Im afraid, but I would think it needs to be registered as a digger. Not sure if you would need to add an alternator and a light pack for road use? I dont know much about them either - other than they were originally supplied with both digging arm and dumper bucke...
