Re that crane with odd attachment. I have seen a similar arrangement in the past. That style of thing was also used on your English canal system maintenance to prevent the grab going thru the clay liner. Must have been awfully slow to operate. regards ray

I had a super 11 grab crane on a barge for several years in the 1960's. powered with a 3LW Gardner. My B.I.L. started in business with a little Smith 8 P2 Petter engine with dragline and skimmer. Is that machine being restored sporting a Fowler 2 stroke??

The "Leaning wheel" feature on most all decent graders was to counteract side slip forces when blading and or sloping of cuttings, or ditching. This goes right back to the early towed machines with hand controls, the fact it assisted when steering was secondary.
