Bitton Plant near Bristol used to have a big Allis Tractor not sure of the model though. Its blade sat at Tytherington quarry for years after the firm finished.

Re: Chivers & Porters D8? + Box constructing school playing fields
I worked with them on the Northleach road out of Cirencester in around 1973, I was on hire there on a digger. Met the father and son, they were nice people.

Re: How many left?
Kelston Sparkes had a few scrapers, I think they were TS14s but I've not seen them on a job for a number of years now. The last one I saw working was the one pictured above at Uskmouth Power station, there was an old one there as well but it was standing when I was there. There's one standing in a f...
Re: 82-80
I didn't know there was an 82-80 either, I'd like to have seen one. A company I worked for had an 82-30 rope blade & an 82-40 Hydraulic blade. I never worked on a job with the 82-40 but photos showing the 82-30 working are posted on here somewhere. The man driving it was Gordon Frost & he co...

Re: JCB Excavators Old & New
Good pics, cheers IBH. Apologies if this has been covered before! Anybody know if there was a reason why early JCB 360's had the cab mounted on the right hand side? My guess would be that was because the JCB 7 which was the first 360 they built was based on an American Warner & Swasey...

Re: How many left?
Lovely to see those new 657s being prepared, something we won't see much of in the future. I wonder where they're heading?
As far as old working scrapers are concerned,I think Kelston Sparkes still have some TS14 Scrapers, not sure how often they get used nowadays though.
