Yes William , I have since spoken to JCB and they have found my machine in there records , it left the factory on 7th December 1967 and I have found it was registered in January 1968 ! You know your stuff

Yep the pedal releases the top part of the backhoe (when I manage to free it up). Cheers Christopher I will be on the lookout for a copy now! Yes I think that second pic is a 2b , as far as I know the 2d's had a side and indicator light in one rectangle unit and a white cab, they also had a four cylinder engine. That said there are guys on here that know far more than me! if it has the PTO it would be worth trying to get hold of. I'm sure...

Hi Christopher,i have a 2b mk1 1968 I think, which has the 3 cylinder bmc / Nuffield. the front and rear work lights are round instead of rectangular and the dipper is slightly different but it looks very similar.The pto was an option which mine does not have (sadly). thanks for the reply's. There does not appear to be a pto on my machine , has anyone got a picture of one in place as I cannot find anything on the net?
