Re: Major Mishap

Follow the link below for some better photographs. At 350 tonnes weight, I wasn't surprised to see it was in the process of being dismantled when I passed it again yesterday. http://www.miningaustralia.com.au/news/350-tonne-equipment-still-blocks-port-hedland-road?utm_source=SilverpopMailing&utm...

Major Mishap

I passed this rather unfortunate situation in Port Hedland, Western Australia yesterday morning. It is an iron ore reclaimer which seemed to have fallen off the trailer while being moved. Easily 250T here, so it will need a major crane operation to retrieve it.

Re: Ruston Bucyrus Cable Excavators.

It looks like it has the Continental cab with sloped sides on the roof for rail transport, allowing travel through tunnels. I'd imagine it would be 1950's at the latest.

Re: The way we were

I last heard of Thornycroft building Nubian crash tenders in the 70s and maybe the early 80s - absorbed into Scammel I think.

You certainly don't hear much about them these days.

The last picture here is a Goodwin & Barsby Goliath mobile jaw crusher, probably a 36"x24" model.

Great pictures, Chris - not enough quarrying pics on this site, so keep them coming! :claphands:

Re: Tractor and machinery magazine

I think CPM has improved a bit in recent months, though some of the articles are definitely a bit brief.

Nick Baldwin's articles are always good. Some on the history of famous plant distributers could be interesting.
