Sad day tomorrow.

Hi All,
Just thought I'd mention, I'm off to Milton Keynes tomorrow for the funeral of my grand-daughter,
Life can be so cruel. She was just 26 years of age and has been battling against cystic fibrosis all of her short life.

Re: The way we were

Just love the pic of the dump trucks operating in a high street "somewhere in England", no tape or barriers anywhere! A high street as was , complete with a Macfisheries fish shop!! Here's another pic from the same job. "From an age when common sense prevailed." I worked for Edd...

Re: Jcb 3c mk2 no oil in gearbox

Hi, I always used EP90. There must be a reason why JCB specify EP90 as opposed to the Universal Tractor Oil specified for the Nuffield tractor. It may not just be the fact that the tractor uses the gear box oil for the hydraulics. I think that the JCB transmission would be subject to a deal more sho...

Re: The way we were

Great pics as usual. Was that Whitlock what was known as the Dinkum Digger or was that something different? I remember seeing a newspaper photo of the army trying out a Dinkum Digger - would have been around 1955. Later we had a college visit to Whilock's factory at Great Yeldham where i think that...

Re: Petter PH2

As I said then a restricted exhaust. That much carbon build up points to over fuelling. Adjust the excess fuel, ( cold start), screw till you get a near clear exhaust when opening the throttle. I've explained setting up and spill timing the pumps on here a little while ago. look ba...

Re: Vibroll 32RD Gearbox Issue

Hi Andy,
I used to run a couple of these 32 RDs but its so long ago I can't remember much about them. Maybe a photo or two would jog my memory, I may then be able to help.

NEW WELDING SHIELD ????????

Hi, I couldn't believe. :!: :!: :!: My son went to our local supplier to purchase a new welding head shield, only to be told that they were no longer available. :o New HSE regulations ban their sale and we are faced with purchase of an air fed shield costing £480. I have done a lot of welding ...

Re: Single cylinder petter

Hi David, I couldn't make sense of your pic. till I realised it was upside down. You either have the injector pump rack stuck, which you can check easily enough, or more likely the governor control rod is stuck. The governor is operated by a pushrod which goes through the centre of the camshaf...

Re: Hymac 580C slew motor seals

Hi Alex, To be honest I doubt if your local supply will match these seals as they are a bit specialised. These motors are fitted in all sorts of industrial applications and I'm sure you will find a supplier on line if you Google "Staffa motor parts." or "Staffa motor seals.&qu...
