Re: Starting problem - fuel
You mean the filter in the inlet end of the injector pump? Yes you can but need to be very careful doing so. Remove the inlet pipe, then the large plug(15/16'' spanner). Then lift out the spring. You can just about see the top of the filter around the outside of the hole. You need something fine to h...

Re: JCB 3cx
The lever needs pushed away (anti clockwise) from you to release the clamps. The rotating part that the vertical rod goes into may need pushed around further with a pry bar or suchlike.

Yes they are. A few internal differences in the last of the MK3 Powertrain engines but still interchangeable.

Can't help with the 50B manual but there's a Perkins manual in the forum downloads section.

Re: Jcb 3c
You haven't said which MK of 3C. 1,2 or 3?
The return filter is as below for MK 1 and 2. MK 1 has no door covering it and should be obvious to see.
Bottom picture is of the suction filter for MK 2 and 3. Lie on your back and look up under the step. Don't know if MK 1 has this one or not.

Re: Jcb 3c
If it's a MK1,I think there's only the big return filter in front of the right hand rear wheel.Might be a suction filter somewhere but I'm not familiar with it. The MK2 will have a suction strainer behind/up under the steps into the cab. Flat plate to come off and the strainer is above it. Also then...

Re: Perkins phaser 1004 in 3cx running bad
The thermostat should be inside the housing directly above the sensor you have circled in green. Your engine should really start instantly without any heat with that particular starter on it. Wonder if your fuel lift pump has become weak?

Re: Perkins phaser 1004 in 3cx running bad
Those are coolant temperature sensors. One for the temp gauge, one for the temp warning light/buzzer. Can't remember exactly but think the one circled in red is for the gauge. The glow plug/heater,if fitted, would be on the inlet manifold. Would have a steel pipe and wire attached to it. Back, right ha...
