Engine is an air start Ruston 5 VPHN with a 6 PS starting compressor and a Lister D type lighting set - a stationary engine line-up all on its own !

Koehring or NCK 304 - the box on the front left side is an auxiliary generator house for lighting power. Probably had an Onan or ACDelco petrol generator lurking inside.

Hi Bill, The transmission gears were shrunk onto the drum shaft, which was EN24, heat treated after machining and finish ground to fine limits. Metal spraying or building up with weld on the worn areas will alter the tensile strength of the steel and is unlikely to bond successfully to the worn surf...

Hi Gavin, I'd say that you're looking at a C34 Pennine by NCK. The back end counterweight handling sheaves confirm it, together with the forward mast and 12 part boom suspension reeving.
