Mark, The "JCB 1945-1980" book by Michael D.J.Irwin has a section on early JCB serial numbers. It lists the JCB 3D as starting at S/N115823 in 1977, and 127484 in 1978, so this should put yours as an early 1977 model. The book suggests the MkIII came in 1977, but assume your is therefore a...
