Re: JCB 3C Mk3

if its the brockhouse transmission with the shuttle transmission and handbrake on the cab floor as one of the options Pete was asking about, yes the oil level is checked with the engine running on tickover after it has been running for a few minutes because the oil cooler is higher than the transmis...

Re: JCB hand throttle arrangement

The mk2 I broke had a rod throttle linkage & simms style pump, and a cable throttle between the thumb lever in the rear and the pedal itself so sounds like your on the right track. The linkage from it was butchered though so it went in the bin sadly. I remember having to make rework my brackets f...

Re: Indicator flasher unit for JCB 3C Mk2

I'm missing a fuse cause one of the holders is bust. I need to create a bodge there. I believe that's for the rear work light circuit. The socket of the right rear bulb is damaged from when I removed a rusted bulb hence it's dimmer than the left hand side so I can fit a new socket as I've had to do...

Re: Indicator flasher unit for JCB 3C Mk2

The indicator stalk stays with the dash I think as its screwed to the underside of it but yes there's a lot of things to disconnect first and its a faff if you can get away without having to. Looking at the manual, the front worklights and rear ones are on the same fuse, as is the interior light. If...

Re: Indicator flasher unit for JCB 3C Mk2

Now is a good time to mention the downloads on the site, there's a mk2 manual in there with wiring diagrams that will help a lot. I *think* the terminals are only labelled with amperages but they correspond to the layout on the fusepanels. If its any help, a lot of my electrical issues were just pla...

Re: Indicator flasher unit for JCB 3C Mk2

I think so on the seat colours, have a look at this really nicely restored 3c3 it has the same black and orange pattern to the newly restored seat. I always find it quicker to undo the bolts holding the seat "foot" to the gearbox with a impact gun and watch out for the spacers that fall of...

Re: Indicator flasher unit for JCB 3C Mk2

As agrimax said, nice original time=capsule almost mk2 with 4/98 with the lucas dpa pump, still got the operator protection covers for the rear controls and I really like the 3 lever setup personally but I'm built like shrek and mine falls to hand for me as a result. In fact the only original thing ...

Re: Indicator flasher unit for JCB 3C Mk2

Nice Jcb with 4-in-1. I'm sure more pictures would go down well here :) Any oldstyle automotive (ie for 12v cars old enough to be shipped originally with bulbs instead of leds) car one would work. Inside the can they are just a bendy bi-metal strip that heats up with lamp current, and bends out of w...

Re: 3C Crankshaft removal and re-grind

It doesnt have to be machine-writing-off expensive though, well the crank itself wont be cheap if the journal is wrecked but the rest of it you could get away with just investing time. You won't know until you assess it and some parts are quite cheap, a conrod for eg I priced at 24 quid out of curos...
