Re: JCB 3CX worn out Kingpins.
with all the parts disconnected from the hub assy {wheel, track rod and power steering ram}you need to cut the kingpin at top and bottom of the axle so you can remove the hub assy. then make sure the kingpin is cut flush with the top of the axle. then make a drift with a handle {as near to the same ...

Re: Perkins 1004.42 Oil Issue
yes Fred, the shells would have to be fitted upside down. I have seen this done several times now by different people who have rebuilt these engines, who then bring them to us to fix with the same symptoms as todds its a very easy mistake, but can be very costly. hope this isn't the case with your en...

Re: Jcb 3CX brakes
Hi David
if you do buy the machine or go to view it again have a look in the brake reservoir and see if you can smell the oil.
these machines should not have brake fluid in them just hydraulic oil hp15.
if someone has put brake fluid in there by mistake it can destroy the seals.
best of luck

hi david
did the brakes squawk when you applied the brakes?
could just be master cylinders or brake discs worn.

Re: JCB 3CX Project 7 Shovel Reset
Hi Charlie
this allows you to return the bucket/shovel to level/dig position after dumping the bucket.
if you hold the lever to crowd the bucket {front shovel}over it should hold it there until the bucket is level.
a magnet on the spool holds the spool in the crowd position

hi dan
if your dumper stills has a battery isolater fitted,disconect one lead and join it to the other side of the isolater {so the isolater is bypassed}
does your dumper not start only when its cold? or does it do it all the time regardless of engine temp?
