Re: JCB 2B starting issue

Hi Craig and welcome  I take it this is the Ford 4 cylinder engine? I have the 6 cylinder Ford on my 580BT she will start without the cold start button when she's warm but when I first bought her she would not start without the cold start button pushed in; I have put this down to the digger st...

Re: New owner of Hymac 580B

Andy there should always be a gap for the grease to lubricate the bushes; the bushes should be tight enough in their bores so as not to move when the pin is knocked in, the pin should be a nice slide fit into the bushes, sometimes it helps to grind a small 'lead in' onto the end of the pins, I used ...

Re: New owner of Hymac 580B

Is this what you mean by reaming Jeremy? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi2YSkVzb7s Do you mean reaming the surface inside the cylinder ear where the bush is to fit? Yes Andy that's what I mean; because the bush is an interference fit then it may close up slightly when fitted thus preventing the p...

Re: New owner of Hymac 580B

Thanks for your input Jeremy. Yes yes i have understood that they changed part from time to time. I think i will try to get someone to turn them down for me. As you said the tolerance is important. I want them to fit tight  Measure the inside of the ram bores where the bushes are to fit yo...

Re: New owner of Hymac 580B

Andy; firstly yes they can be turned down to fit just make sure you get a nice interference fit; when I get up to my machine I will measure the bushes on it and on the newly reconditioned rams that I intend to fit, the problem that I have is that the part where the pins fit into the actual frame loo...

Thanks Jorg :claphands: the Fratelli trike dumper is rather unusual can't imagine that three wheelers would be very stable over a rough building site.

Re: Lewis Badger

Hi Sandy and welcome to the site  that is a nice little but rare machine that you have there I have only seen one of these machines in the flesh and that was being used on grave digging duties; I would imagine that the small company who make these would not have a high production capacity henc...

Re: New owner of Hymac 580B

The next thing i have i plan for my excavator before spring is to replace the very worn lover bushings on the rams lifting the boom. But the weather does everything to ruin my plans :| 20190212_142455.jpg20190212_142407.jpg http://www.classicmachinery.net/forum/download/file.php?id=52892&t=1 ht...
